These mini French toast bites are a great addition to a brunch board, breakfast spread, drink garnish, or an easy snack.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
• 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
• ½ cup milk
• 1 large egg
• 2 tsp sugar
• ½ tsp vanilla extract
• ½ tsp ground cinnamon
• 1 pack King’s Hawaiian pretzel bites
• 2 Tbsp butter, for cooking
Cinnamon Sugar
• 1 Tbsp sugar
• ½ tsp cinnamon
Directions:
• Cut all the pretzel bites in half.
• In a bowl, whisk the flour first. Slowly whisk in the milk until smooth with no lumps. Add the egg, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon and whisk until fully combined.
• Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt 1–2 Tbsp butter.
• Dip the pretzel bites in the batter just long enough to coat, then immediately place them on the hot skillet.
• Let them cook for 1–2 minutes, or until golden brown, then flip, give them a gentle press, and cook another 1–2 minutes until golden on all sides.
• Remove from the skillet. If needed, add more butter and repeat with the remaining pretzel bites.
• In a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon to make the cinnamon sugar.
• While the bites are still warm, sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar and toss so it sticks to the buttery coating.
• Finish with a light drizzle of maple syrup before serving.
