After weeks of relentless rain, we finally get a break in the weather and Philippe wastes no time tackling a problem we can no longer ignore. Last summer we installed the utility lines under the driveway for rainwater, grey water, electricity and drainage, but after extreme downpours and repeated passes from heavy stone delivery trucks, a key corner near the barn shifted and damaged several connections. With pipes and drains all linked together, one weak point can throw the whole system off, so fixing it properly is essential to protect the barn, the cellar, and everything we are building next. By the end of the week, our friend Théo from @iletaitunemaison comes to lend a hand and he even brings a fine Roussillon wine for a little tasting, a bit of pleasure in between all the hard work.

°°° Our Story: We’re Philippe, Anicia and our little explorers are Odin & Gracie. In the summer of 2023, we left the comforts of our lives in Belgium and purchased an old farmhouse in the south of France, specifically in the Dordogne region. We produce weekly videos documenting our progress on the property, with the ultimate goal of renovating it and restoring it to its former glory. Join us on our journey of transforming this French homestead as we aim for a simpler, yet more fulfilling life closer to nature.

  1. I hope you are all well again and feeling better.. may the sun shine on your endeavours and gentle rains fall softly when needed. You are an incredible family and both of you, Philippe and Anicia, excel at what you do..we are lucky to have a view of your lives from the YouTube window. Thank you 🙏🏽

  2. You're such a hard worker who never seems to give up. I'm proud of you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that things go well for you. see you next time

  3. Would you plan to do a concrete apron at the gate area just for a transition? Over time enen compacted stone will wear away, at least the concrete would provide a pressure bridge to traverse the underground work. Especially where the grade break is, that is a lot of force pushing down from vehicle traffic

  4. imagine if you spent same amount of energy and money and time on a land and on a house which isn't this problematic with water and natural elements….like in some nice warm part of the country…..you would have been somewhere totally else

  5. You have such an amazing focus to your work. I appreciate your patience and everything that you do. It’s really noticeable.😊

  6. Phillippe you are amazing! I am constantly amazed with your intelligence and creativity in problem solving. Truly you are a renaissance man. Your show is my favorite and I look forward to each episode every single week. The photography and videography skills of your wife make this a must subscribe channel. I send you blessings and wish for you to reach 1 million subscribers. You definitely deserve it.

  7. Having designed a drainage system for my problematic yard, I can tell you it is very satisfying when you think you know what to do, you do that, and it turns out right.

  8. Awh Philippe and Anicia, hope you and the family are on the other side of the bug 🥹 So pleased to see your lovely friend lending a hand and sharing a laugh with you all. 🥂 See you next time 🧡💙🩵👋🏽🕊️

  9. On the farm here when I come up against something difficult I think of your work ethic and I am encourage to push myself😊 thank you for such a good example.

  10. A really great natural healer is oil of oregano in tincture form and other means. Your family must be well to continue amusing your viewers😅😅😅

  11. I can relate, still pushing my projects to the "end" even if im sick. Have to mention your project is way bigger and complex. Stay strong but keep safe!😮

  12. I'm sorry that you had to pull all of that back out; that was a lot of work to install in the first place.

  13. Philippe your an absolute machine! Glad you were able to power through you sickness and get that taken care of. Hopefully the rest of the family is on to recovering as well. Be well & be safe!

  14. Chapeau, Phillipe, this was a really well done job. Nobody could ask for more. I see you (like me) following the rule "If you want something done right, do it yourself".
Cheers from Bernie, an unknown friend from SW Germany.

  15. Phillip, I always admire your attitude to do it right, taking all the added steps to make sure the job is done right, in everything you do. So much fun to watch.

  16. Wow, you made that look easy! But what a ton of work and while you were ill too! Such a major triumph!!!

  17. 6:15 Maar waarom daar geen buizen gekozen met een hogere ringstijfheid? SN4? Of meteen SN8. Afijn, lijken mij geen halve maatregelen die ge nu genomen hebt. 👍

  18. Great job Philippe! You are like the TV advertisement of energizer batteries with the bunny. He keeps on going, and going, and going, and going!😂

  19. You are such a patient man, Phillipe! To have to re-do all that heavy work is a great accomplishment. And doing it sick with a fever – amazing. Well done! Super job editing, too, well done!

  20. I have to compliment Phillipe for doing such a thorough job of bedding the pipes. Most people don't take proper care for this step and it can cause a collapse. Bon chance.
