I never know the ratio of olive oil to the base ingredients sigh
I am the queen of making soup because we live in Minnesota and cold weather ask for soups and stews 🤷🏼♀️we Persian we som kind of ( you can say soup ) made of beans ( lentils, chicken peas red peas while pease ) and greens spinach parsers green onion kale what ever else you have . Bones or beef broth. Sauté onion and garlic ,in butter ,with dry mint .and little of white sauce to give it a little depth. The beans are not dash it is like 2 cup lentil and rest each one cup . And greens is 2 bunch of each . So is really a big greens and beans. I am sorry I don’t think pesto goes with soup body 😢

Had 2 turnips so just made a pureed turnip/potato cream soup. Rosemary/onion/celery/garlic/butter/milk. Yummy!
Here in Vancouver, what I do in regards to freezing is when I purchase green/red/yellow/orang peppers, I remove the core and white interiors, then cut the peppers into chunks and freeze them in Ziplock bags. That eliminates issues of the peppers going bad and having to be thrown out. Otherwise, too wasteful since there is no way that I can eat even one that quickly.

Why is SOMEONE FROM ENGLAND IS DOING ADVERTISING FOR CHECKERS…. We have brilliant actors here… the ad about the helicopter just recently was brilliant and everyone loved it. WE DONT LOVE THIS. IT IS NOT OUR OWN.
Oh my word, the second you said “4 Vegetable Soups to Make This Week by Jamie Oliver,” my whole spirit did a dramatic whew because, listen, every time Jamie drops a new soup lineup, I suddenly believe I’m the kind of woman who owns a rustic wooden ladle and says things like “let’s just let that simmer.” And ha! Let me tell you, last winter I tried one of his veggie soups and—good grief—I chopped so many carrots I started having a full self‑dialogue like, “Luise, are you cooking or preparing for the Great Carrot Famine of 2042?” But honestly, hmm, there’s something magical about vegetable soups: they trick you into feeling productive even when your entire life is held together by a single grocery list and a prayer. And oh wow, one time I made a giant pot thinking it would last the whole week… only to inhale half of it in one sitting because it tasted like a warm hug from someone who pays their taxes early. That’s when I realized soup isn’t just food—it’s emotional infrastructure. And the funniest part? Every time I make a Jamie Oliver recipe, I suddenly get the urge to reorganize my pantry, answer overdue emails, and behave like a fully functioning adult. So yes, bring on the soups, because if a bowl of blended vegetables can make me feel like I’ve got my life sorted, then by all means, ladle me into February like I’m auditioning for a productivity documentary.

Depends where you get frozen veg from. These days they are full of dangerous muck, unless you wish to pay extra. So we are stuffed whatever we do. Everything we eat these days seem to be full of either bacteria e numbers folic acid Bovea, carcinogenic sweetener pesticides herbicides and insects sized. Not everyone can afford the organic ranges especially if you are on a budget.
Add meat!!!

Love to you from America ! You're my favorite " celebrity" chef. I have your Christmas cook book and one additional one. I've watched so many of your vids that I lost count. I LOVE your recipes and styles because the ingredients aren't esoteric, are always simple, yet put together in way that makes an absolutely FABULOUS dish. I also appreciate your sense of humor, kindness in never bad-mouthing others , and your pace with perfect diction. I've LOVED seeing your children and family participation. I've learned so many tips and tricks from you. I'm 72 years old and grew up with 9 children on a farm in Southern California. I'm a good cook, overall. And still…you add to my interest and skill and APPRECIATE YOU soooo much. Today I learned your pesto trick of simplicity and freezing. Also, growing up on a farm , I had NO IDEA THAT FROZEN VEGETABLES ARE MORE NUTRITIOUS THAN " FRESH" VEGGIES THAT HAVE TRAVELED TO MARKET. This is invaluable. Bless you and your family.
5:40 It is so true but our nowadays food policy is to have sick people and I am so convinced that even frozen food is actually empty old trash with chemicals, sorry but what I am buying from supermarkets last 10 years is or 3D plastic or old food with a lot pesticides, hopeless.. 🫣🥴
I adore this family, not only that Jamie Oliver is one of the greatest chef on this planet, I also more than appreciate and love Jules cos I know how many pressure and difficulty she had to wear on her shoulders from all what they went through, this girl is amazing!! 👌🫡 And of course theirs lovely, pretty, intelligent and of so natural behavior kids, I love them all so much, God bless this family! 🙏😇👍💝
