We’re in Wilson, Wyoming, touring the deeply personal log cabin of photographer and writer Lisa Flood—a romantic Western retreat she has lovingly cared for and restored for more than 30 years.

Originally built as two small cabins joined together, this historic home was nearly lost when structural damage threatened its survival. The wrecking ball was on its way when Lisa made the eleventh-hour decision to save the home she raised her family in.

Working with a dedicated local team and designer Emily Janak, Lisa transformed the cabin into a layered, soulful home that blends the spirit of the Old West with feminine touches and European influences. Antique Western artifacts, inherited family pieces, and meaningful collections fill the rooms—from vintage cowgirl gear and historic photographs to heirloom furniture and handmade furnishings.

The result is a warm and storied home that feels both romantic and deeply lived-in—a place shaped by family life, creative friendships, and a lifelong love of the American West.

    One of my very favorites ever. Love the fact that it’s a family cabin that has been lovingly restored, the wonderful decor choices, something a real family can live in, and she is so down to earth and unpretentious, I felt like her friend and she was taking me on a personal tour of her home. I’ll watch this one over and over again.
