Hi! I’m trying to secretly redo our porch floor as an anniversary present, one of the bottom steps rotted through, and so I’m replacing that and then hopefully sanding and refinishing the rest. My issue is that ideally we’d love for it to be stained wood, but I don’t know what condition the wood will be in when it’s sanded down. We might have to paint and every porch in my area is painted the same sort of bummer grey. Any suggestions for an alternative that would still work with the rest of the house? Hopefully we’ll get to paint it one day as well, but can’t really afford that right this second. Is a wood toned color going to look terrible?
