We’re still in the French Alps — and today, instead of skiing, Joen and I take a slow break to explore the little mountain town of La Clusaz.
The weather is grey and rainy, the kind of day that invites you to wander slowly. We browse French delicacies, get lost in beautiful grocery stores, step into charming interior shops, and imagine what life here might feel like in summer — long hikes, melting rivers, and quiet mountain evenings.
While the rest of the family spends the day on the slopes, I stay behind to cook a slow winter dinner for everyone. A four-hour beef stew with mashed potatoes — the kind of meal that fills a chalet with warmth while snow lingers outside.
There’s even a little ice bath in the snow (yes… really).
This video is about cozy mornings, grocery shopping in a new country, cooking for the people you love, and the quiet beauty of stepping away from the rush — even in the middle of a ski trip.
As our week in the Alps comes to an end, I reflect on how special this trip has been. Not just because of the mountains or the skiing — but because of family. Joen’s parents invited all of us to celebrate their 50 years of marriage, and witnessing a love that has lasted half a century feels deeply inspiring.
We’ve shared laughter, wine, food, conversations — and so much love.

Do you mind sharing the hotel or chalet name. It’s absolutely wonderful and would not mind renting or visiting with my own family unless it’s not possible to rent. I also wanted to say how much you inspire every human that are considering reinventing themselves to just go for it. Always remember how special you are and how much you mean to the people that appreciate you. Don’t let the 1% drag you down. They are ultimately lost and projecting. You just need to believe all those wonderful qualities too. ❤
