Recipe (from Julie’s Apron):
Ingredients:
6 slices thick-cut bread (about 1 inch)
6 tbsp Nutella
2 eggs
⅔ cup milk
¼ tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Butter or coconut oil for cooking
Optional: powdered sugar, berries, maple syrup
Instructions:
Cut a slit into the center of each slice of bread (don’t cut all the way through).
Fill each slice with about 1 tablespoon of Nutella and gently press closed.
In a bowl, whisk eggs until frothy. Add milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
Heat a pan over medium heat and add butter or coconut oil.
Dip each stuffed slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides. Let excess drip off.
Cook about 3 minutes per side, until golden brown.
Serve warm with powdered sugar, berries, or maple syrup.
