I’m struggling with what size/shape rug to put in my bedroom. I tried a large rug that filled the empty floor space and went under the desk chair and partially under the bed, but it just didn’t look right. What should I tweak here/ where should I place a rug? Note that the current rug is just a placeholder to keep the floor from getting scratched by the desk chair until we decide on something else. Not that I’m not married to the task chair being in here, either!

You could try a circular rug, might not overwhelm the room as much. I think you can also get oval ones.
