We’ve lived in this house for two years now and are looking to make our den into a cozier space. My thought is to play with tone on tone to match our existing Jade couch. The middle color in these photos is Benjamin Moore Smoke which is the same color used in my inspiration images.
Some considerations, our flooring is red oak and our mantle is a cherry wood. Unfortunately, the previous homeowners painted the brick white and ceiling beams white. Do any of these paint choices work? Should we color drench the space, leave the fireplace as is, or paint the ceiling? I’ve looked at these colors so many times I can seem to make a clear-headed decision!

I feel like the middle one is closest to your inspiration pic. The others might be too dark.
The bluer ones seem better cause its pulling from rug
Paint color. The best way to select the color is to first match the couch color exactly. Then simply go a few shades lighter. You will get the best color that way. Especially as your couch is a blue-green shade. Going too blue or too green will ruin the effect.
Leave the fireplace, trim and ceiling white. You have a very long room with average height ceilings – color drenching will turn it into a tunnel. The white at the far end will draw people into the space.
I like the second from the left.
the first one, but cut in some white to lighten it. The middle one is the right lightness but nit the right color.
The 1st one. But one (maybe 2) shades lighter. Match your sofa and then move up the color strip. The middle and 4th one are too blue. The 2nd and 5th one are too dingy.
