Recently purchased this bed frame for my primary bedroom. It’s boucle with the dark wood base. I’m looking to purchase new nightstands and a dresser and was wondering if I could make natural wood furniture work? Trying to figure out what tone wood could work. The rest of the bedroom is styled in a neutral palette – ivory rug, linen natural drapes, Benjamin Moore Swiss coffee walls and possibly muted sage, beige, taupe, brown accents. Advice welcome. Tx.

You can easily mix woods so long as you are mindful of the undertones. Most wood has yellow, red, red-orange, gray, gray-green, green or purple undertones. Complimentary woods and color schemes share similar or balancing undertones.

With that said, your bed looks like a dark walnut which is also fairly neutral as well as the ivory color (yellow-based neutral). I’d vary some woods so it does not look sterile or repetitive and pick up that wood somewhere also (could be accessory or decor) and add a non-neutral color. Or you will be that poster who then comes and asks “why is my space not warm and cozy?”.
