Make some Sablés Bretons to have ready for when visitors come to meet your new bébé 🐣 Those delicious sweet and salty buttery biscuits are so simple to make and they will keep a few months in a tin in a dry cupboard. Making them the perfect homemade biscuit to serve with tea or coffee. They are very famous in Brittany and I am sure you have seen a traditional tin from La Mère Poulard before 🙂 Who wants to make them? INGREDIENTS (for 24 biscuits) 250g plain flour 100g icing sugar 1 egg 150g salted butter 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp Fleur de sel (sea salt/ flaked salt) 1 egg yolk + 1 tsp milk to brush METHOD Cream the butter with the sugar. Then add the egg and mix well. Mix the baking powder and salt to the flour and add this to the mix. Use a spatula and then your hands to form a ball. Keep in the fridge for an hour. Sprinkle some flour onto a sheet and roll your dough to a 3 to 4 mm thickness. Cut some 5 to 6 cm circles and use a spatula to place them on some greased proof paper. Brush with some egg yolk and milk, use a fork to form a cr0ss on top and refrigerate until oven is hot. 180C fan oven for 15 min until golden. Et voilà!
