In this video I will show you how to cook Quiche Lorraine. This traditional dish from the north-eastern region of France called Lorraine is a unique culinary trip. The combination of crispy dough and hearty filling will enchant your palate.

Join Knobi Cooks in the cooking action, as I show you how to prepare Quiche Lorraine step-by-step. Here is what you will need:

salty short pastry dough for two Quiche
300g (~0.66 lbs) cooked ham/bacon
300g (~0.66 lbs) cream
200g (~0.44 lbs) mountain cheese

100ml (~3.38 fl oz) milk

6 eggs
1 leek (can be omitted if preferred)
1 onion

salt
pepper
parsley
nutmeg

some flour
some (clarified butter)

1 rolling pin, 2 springform pans, 1 bowl, 2 measuring cups, 1 hand mixer, 1 blender,

about 75 to 90 minutes time (including dough preparation and baking)

Brief recipe summary:

0. Prepare your salty short pastry dough.

1. Prepare the springform pans for baking.

2. Dice onion and ham, afterwards saute both in a pan.

3. Cut you leek into quarter or half slices and saute it too.

4. Shred your mountain cheese.

5. Roll out your pastry dough an press it into the springform pans and shape some of it into a rim. Preheat your oven to 200°C/392°F top and bottom heat.

6. Season ham and onions with parsley, salt, pepper and nutmeg.

7. (Optional) Separate egg yolks from egg white and whip the egg white to a foam.

8. (Optional) Whip the cream and milk mixture.

9. Mix all ingredients for the filling together and fill it into your springforms.

10. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes until golden brown.

11. Serve and enjoy!
