Personally, I prefer the mini variation as this is best consumed in 2-3 big bites, but a larger format pie seemed a bit more approachable. If you want to make mini versions but don’t have mini tart pans, these also work great as a hand pie!

And my last tip…. Double (or triple) up on your caramelized onions and save the rest for any and everything. The beef stock deglazed onions are so flavorful I could eat them by the spoonful.
