Happy new year everyone! I hope it may be one blessed with joy, good health and all the things you wish for! I am just sharing a bit of what we’ve been up to here in the French countryside!     I love the radiator cover. What a great idea! I share your feelings of wanting to ease into the new year. I’m not quite ready to be energetic and fully productive yet!

    Thats realy an amazing idee in front of the heater looks amazing
    And aboud jauarie and new year i feel the same stil in winter rest mode. And i dont like the things happening atound new year animore its getting more and more hostyle whit the havey fierworks 😢 lovely update Marloes cant wait to se the finisd bedroom

    What you’re describing about a new start in January is so true! You should look into Norouz, which is the Persian new year. Persians celebrate all their major holidays based on scientific celestial events, and their new year is at the exact moment of spring equinox. You start fresh when nature starts fresh ☺️

    Happy new year🎉 I love your videos. I’m wondering why you use water in plastic storage containers which leech plastic rather using than an under sink water filter? Is it because built in water filters are not available ? once again I love your videos and this is not a criticism, I’m just curious/comcerned

    Love the radiator cover…is there nothing Olav can’t do? 😂 I agree about the new year in the Shetland Isles they never took to the new calendar so I think it’s only nearly Christmas there now they prefer the old Gregorian calendar so I think new year is the 16th …have a great new year 😊

    What a clever idea to cover up the heat pump. Looks fantastic. I f8nd the first of a new year difficult to get motivated but 9nce the weeks pass I feel more active to get things done.

    Happy new year! I agree that it would make sense for the new calendar year to happen around springtime. I love the cabinet piece over the radiator upstairs. What a great idea, and it's really a beautiful piece. 😍

    I love that piece of furniture you bought. It has such beautiful detail. I spent today reclaiming my kitchen. I had made 200 cookies and 6 loaves of zucchini bread for my family. So my kitchen was very cluttered. I cleaned everything and put things away. My kitchen is small and gets cluttered very easily. I'm glad you were able to start the year out slowly.

    Feel the same way! No useless pressure on myself with setting new goals just because of the new year. I am grateful for every new day no matter what year or month it is;-) The cover is beautiful! Very happy new year to you!

    I wonder how you would feel about the new year if you lived in the southern hemisphere. It’s summer here and it made me wonder.
    Love how you didn’t cover all the walls with plaster, to see the stone adds so much. Looking forward to the bedroom reveal 😊

    You are absolutely right. Spring, the equinox, is the renewing of the year. Even the Chinese new year begins in March. MacGyver did genius yet again.🙂

    We have two Dutch cousins visiting here in Australia and they made oilebollen for new years celebrations.

    I love the radiator cover! Wonderful idea , as always Olaf “ Mc Guiver skills” are so well done! I am feeling the same. Wintering . I’m in no rush.     I am glad you have a heat pump. You are young and energetic now but come your 70's and cutting trees, chopping wood and hauling it in the house and keeping the fire going becomes something you would rather not do. My husband cut trees, chopped wood, we all hauled the wood and heated with it for some years when we were young, I do not miss it at all. We set the thermostat and our house is warm.

    Voor jullie de beste wensen in 2026. De radiator ombouw is echt mooi geworden. Nog steeds jammer dat Olav zo plots en definitief is gestopt met laten zien wat hij allemaal bouwt.

    Ah oliebollen ! Reminds me of Holland long ago, when my mother treated us with appelflappen en oliebollen on New Years Eve. I wish you and your family a great New Year in good health. Thank you for all your creative video’s Marloes.
