Tasting: Ellercombe Sainsburys – English Nicolas de Montbart Aldi – Champagne Asquith Asda – English M&S Bramble Hill (Tank fermented) English Monsigny Aldi – Chazmpagne Definition Majestic – English Bissinger Lidl – Champagne
I've tried Bramble Hill from M&S, and I think it's pretty good for £14! If you're spending that on a bottle of English sparkling wine you need to have your expectations at the right level
Ellercombe was the first ever English sparkling I bought and tried around 7-10 years ago! Got it for £15/16 a bottle as part of the 25% off when you buy 6+ bottles. Decent value if you want to buy something British!
You have to dig a bit deeper for the excellent English stuff, but it's worth every penny when you do. Every pound that stays in the country and doesn't go to the French is a winner too.
FACT. The english were making bubbly at the same time as the french, perhaps before. The french bottles kept exploding, while the english ones didn't as they had realized how thick the bottles needed to be. The french went to England and found this out and then their industry took off.
Brilliant video again! Tom makes me laugh SO much, his humour is absolutely hilarious. These booze videos are also educational which I love. More please, more!!
Tom's swiftly becoming a legend. He will have 1M subs within 18 months. The Bissinger is simply in a class of it's own for it's price, it rivals Sir Winston's bubbly tipple of choice.
I’d like you but wish to goodness you would rid of the profanities. Can’t watch this with the family because of it. It’s not needed as you’re brilliant without it.
I really really needed a laugh today & then you said “let out the biggest fart at your party” and my tears magically went to mirth! Thank you darling!🥂🍾 cheers!
Why try and compete with sparkling grape drinks? We don't have the climate for it in UK, plus have you ever tasted gooseberry, rhubarb or strawberry "champagne"? Do what we do best.
Travelled from home in France to a Brit Christmas with rellies and obviously brought champagne and then we see this. How can you buy champagne cheaper in U.K. than France!! Down to Aldi expecting it to be sold out only to find a full shelf (they do live in a Prosecco town).
Once cycled coast to coast and randomly bumped into Dunesforde vineyard near York. Shocked to come across a vineyard in Yorkshire, we popped in for a tour and a sampling and bought some of their Queen of the North Cuvée – it was amazing. Hopefully north England vineyards make their way on to your channel at some point. Although its more than £20 and I dont think available from a supermarket.
Merry Christmas from St. John’s, Tom! I’ve just come from a drink with Paul – who I’m sure you remember from your Vintners era. I mentioned that you’d started a YouTube channel and suggested he check it out. He said he might post a comment to say hi, but I thought I’d write one on his behalf in the meantime. Loving the content you’re putting out on this channel, and hoping for much more in a very happy New Year for you all!

My colleagues have just bought me the Monbart.
Tom G… what happened to the Petrus bottle that is visible above your right shoulder…? Fires up my curiosity every video of yours that I watch…

I use M*S quite often and I challenge you to find a single good wine from them, anywhere else is better??

Rapidly becoming my favourite YouTube channel. Love it when Fred throws in a ringer 😂

Fabulous as ever, it’s like a modern day Tourette’s wine tasting course. Merry Christmas to all
Can you do a slightly more expensive ‘in a champagne method’ tasting
So where's the mulled wine video? It's Christmas
He certainly knows his shit! As he would say!🤣😂
I would like to know what you think of Camel Valley wines.

Well I had no intention of buying a Lidl champagne until today

My favorite wine reviewer by far!
Tom, this is one of your very best vlogs, your humor is righteous and your tasting notes on the wine is spot on. More!!!

We may be re-importing back to la belle France.

I could change your mind about English fizz. Try anything from Hattingley Valley in Hampshire. I'll even gift you a bottle…
Trick question? The answer is no.
I’m loathe to admit but I have rewatched 7:07 about a hundred times & laughed each $ every time! Thank you Tom!
you missed all the best English – Balfour, Gusbourne etc.

its insane that you can buy a champagne for £10.. not only that, but that it's actually nice!
I suspect its a case of Aldi bulk buying some stock from a less well known producer.
Even if I was a teetotaler, I’d watch this just for the comedy 🎭- love it !
The inconsistency of the volume in the glasses is a distraction – Fred you need to up your measuring game 😅
