$3.75 croissants in the US is exactly why I flew to Paris, took a croissant-making course, flew back to the US, and saved myself $ over the next 30 years.
If u think croissants in france or eeuu are good, go try argentina pastrys, thats a whole another level, cuz they have european influence but with the high quality of argentina goods.
The big big difference is the butter !!! A friend of mine ( French) has a bakery in the US and despite all his efforts was unable to produce proper croissants in the US with local butter. He is imported French butter and the result is there !!!
The croissant wasn't actually invented in Austria, only the shape came from Austria. Even though the shape is Iconic, the dough makes the croissant. So it's a French creation inspired by an Austrian bake.
Bro thought it’s fair comparing that… That’s like saying „is the bread better in Germany or the US?” America is basically known for Mountain Dew and McDonald’s. What’d you expect?
costco croissants are perfection. However, to bring out its highest heights of deliciousness, you need to restore its fresh-out-of-the-oven outer crunch and inner delicate softness. Here is how: turn your toaster oven on to its hottest level. splash a generous amount of water over the entire surface of the croissant, without soaking t or getting it soggy, just solidly moist all around. Put in in the oven until its color is slightly browner/darker than it started, so you know all water has turned to steam. Remove and enjoy.
THere is no way a Parisian or any ther croissant can top this, because its is pure croissant perfection. I know an artisinal pastry should supposedly be better in more of a "craft" environment, but Costco has brought a scientific approach that utterly nails it.

Uhh I think I learned French for free in school
He showed the side view of the American croissant, but he didn't show the side view of the French croissant. So, we can't see the comparison.
Croissants wasn't invented in austria, or in France, or the US. Comes from turkey long time ago.
Actually at paris there is the € which is euro and its not the same as dollar 1€-1.16 dollars so basicly the croissant cost 1.51$
If you think $3.75 is expensive for a croissant, come to San Francisco! It's around $5 to $5.50 for a plain croissant here! 😂

Ottoman pastry.shape of a moon
I'm sure Iranian bakeries make them even better
Croissant is very different from kipferl. Kipferl is a dry brioche while croissant is buttery puff pastry.
Oh yes, let's just fly to Paris for a crossiant 😂
in france,, the only thing that matters,, is the crest on the bakers collar,, The coveted and secret MOP… go look it up
Can we just say croissant correctly… please?

Makes more sense to compare the average croissants in both countries, and there the french croissant would be a million times better
