Welcome back to The Weekly Edit 🤍
This week’s vlog is such a cozy, homely one – a mix of slow mornings, real life in France, gorgeous food, and a little adventure in Cannes.

We start with a slow morning in the kitchen, prepping a slow-cooked veal stew, chopping the veg, flash-frying the meat, and getting everything into the slow cooker. Nancy joins me in her pyjamas to make her weekend pancakes, and we take our morning supplements together before brushing our teeth with our Suri toothbrushes (ad).

Later, I meet my friend Rachel at the gym for a strength and weights workout, and the next day Ryan and I have a quiet afternoon together. We chat in the kitchen, pick up some fresh organic groceries, and stop by a French hypermarket for a few bits. I share everything we bought before heading home to cook the most gorgeous meal.. pork belly with crackling, red cabbage, parsnips and roasted potatoes. A proper cosy evening at home with a movie.

Towards the end of the week, I walk into Cannes to book a table at Grenache, a rustic French wine bar in Marché Forville. They were hosting a raclette cheese night, and it was such a lovely evening, Rachel joined us and the atmosphere was perfect.

    Good morning.Wow That weight training is intense.Be careful,dearie. I can guess you are becoming fond of it. Nothing like the burn. Nothing like the challenge. I remember in the past you were plauged by back issues so best not to push. Be gentle. You are looking extremely trimmed. Such beautiful curves. Yummy looking preps for dinner. Slow cooking is so practical. I do love parsnips! The market vegetables are so gorgeous. The Oven vegetables look amazing,too. Honestly it's not something I do. I will try. A very inspirational dinner !! 🍽️ I just set another person's place @ your place. Right now I'm pretending! Trust Sylvia to spit out the purple cabbage. The huge dates looked so fresh & delicious. I'm sure Ryan enjoyed them on the way home.I have avoided pork belly because I didn't know what it could do. Looks scrumptious cooked properly in the oven. You did mention sauerkraut. Maybe I've mentioned it before. Pork side ribs baked with a bottle of it is easy in the oven & is really tasty . I love mashed potatoes with it There is a local restaurant Ryan that has a slogan that says " 9 out of 10 people love bacon and the other 10% are lying"! I did not know that pigs did not sweat. That's the unclean label. The parasite cleanse would apply to a lot of pork consumption. A solution perhaps. Fascinating. Lengthy vlogs generate longer comments! This is enough. It did amuse me & educate me. A great way to learn! A friend said that I should watch the new Frankenstein movie on Netflix. She said it was a love story!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thanks again darlings. Really glad you and Ry had some extra time together.

    I was in Cannes today and had a lovely lunch at Caveau Trente based on your recommendation. I would have said hi if I had spotted you but you were probably snuggled up at home. It’s getting chilly in the south of France. We’ve been here six weeks and fly back to warm weather in NZ this week. Keep up the good work with your videos. They’re very enjoyable.

    PS. Fern you mentioned that you enjoy browsing youtube. I don't know if you have ever discovered this American young lady at " Acre Homestead". She's super keen in the kitchen. They live on an acreage. A day ago she posted this. "Shopping at Costco and more for Thanksgiving feast to feed 30 people". After they shopped Costco they moved on to a special spice store(Penzeys Spices). She and her mother's discussion on various spices with which they are acquainted is interesting. For example there is a shelf full of different salts from around the world 🌎. So many spices mentioned tell how they have used them. There's nothing like experience to share. The choices that are available in this day and age in the 🌎 of shopping is mind-blowing! You might want to check it out…

    Speaking of beatles, one day I saw a large beetle crawling across my floor and when I stepped on it, about 5 or 6 baby beatles crawled out in a fan shape from under it's shell. Is that normal?

    FERN – FYI – WARNING — In the summer, the Daily Mail put out an article that
    Dark Chocolate, even by Lindt & other high to low end chocolate manufacturers'
    products are high in "LEAD" !!! Yep, you read that right. Ask A.I..

    Apparently Milk Chocolate has considerably less "LEAD" bcos the recipe uses
    much less Cocoa = "LEAD"

    I told me that Toblerone is the safest Milk Chocolate as well as their White Chocolate.
    Both are safer and better quality than most of the other high end brands.

    DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK — STAY SAFE!!!

    I laughed when you said we like to watch Ryan, eat😊 It’s true. Love your food prep your meal prep and your social going out. It was fun watching you and Rachel have so much fun working out.
