Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients:

1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

200 g bacon, diced

1 onion, chopped

3 eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup milk

1 cup grated Gruyère or Emmental cheese

Salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Add onions and cook until soft.

In a bowl, whisk eggs, cream, and milk. Add cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

Place pie crust in a tart pan and prick the base with a fork.

Spread bacon and onion mixture over the crust.

Pour egg mixture on top.

Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden and firm.

Serve warm or at room temperature with a side salad.
