One of the first five homes built in Sonoma, this Gothic-Victorian masterpiece with French-inspired interiors is both a cherished residence for Sarah and her son as well as a gathering place where she hosts local artisans and makers to celebrate French living with a California twist.
Designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living, the bright, inviting first-floor rooms open onto a wrap-around porch, an outdoor dining space, and a cinematic pool. The grounds feature romantic French-style gardens, a two-story barn, an olive grove and vineyard, and a field with a miniature horse and two goats.
Grand yet intimate, this charming home stands as a testament to Sarah’s thoughtful stewardship of this historic estate, ensuring it will thrive and flourish for generations to come.

Great eye candy for a weary world. 💙🦋💙
Just gorgeous—every bit!😍
Love old world homes.
This is beautiful and inspiring xo
Wowww beautiful property ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤
A talented, interesting lady.
Ramekins, was the cooking school if I remember correctly. Interesting to see this story and the continuing transformation of Sonoma. My family came here in about 1856. 🌱🍃💖
Adoro estas casas com personalidade, estou farta da maioria das casas estadunienses com decorações quase todas iguais, sem gosto, sem imaginação e sem personalidade.
Absolutely stunning and her shop has always been one of my favorites in the country! Sarah is so talented and lovely- thank you for this inspiring tour🤍

Stunning!
Wow!!!! The odd shaped mirrors that didn't sell, just make this space! They are stunning! I have always loved taxidermy, though I know many find it strange. But I love the phrase Spirit Animal. That's what probably has always drawn me to them. The chandelier over the dining table is breathtaking! What an amazing find . The kitchen is perfectly appointed for the history of the home. And , like her, I love the worn look of the terracotta coming through on the floor. The entire home is lovely. The gardens and outdoor spaces are icing on the cake. How fortunate to live in this incredible home. I would love to visit the shop if I am ever in Sonoma. I currently live in what we consider the Napa Valley of the south.. Temecula , Ca. We have over 50 wineries here. So love the whole vibe.
Your home is AMAZING and you are brilliant and amazing to have created such a work of art….and your recall of names…I could go on and on. I have ever enjoyed a YouTube video so much. You brightened my day❤
I always visit her shop, and her home looks like the shop! 😂
What is growing in the paddock with the animals? I've never seen anything like it. Looks somewhat like moss. House is do die for.
Nice home, beautiful architecture and quirky with unusual discoveries.
My preference for framed pictures on the wall is to use museum glass which eliminates glare. Regular glass is too harsh to my eye.
Nice and lovely!
Wonderful home tour. Your very unique collections really were the highlight of a fascinating, welcoming and beautiful home. Thank you!
Such a charming home! Enjoyed watching Thank you
This lovely woman’s house was featured in a magazine years ago when they first moved in. I recognized the peacock and the clock from the article. Her son was just a little guy when the story ran…but the house was wonderful back then and now it’s just perfect. She’s lovely too!
I love this home!
What an amazing woman! I would love to go to her shop. ❤
One of my favorites! And she’s so warm and charming.
This house is very inviting and so special. How does such a grand place feel so unpretentious? I think the host is the magic. Well done!
🤍
I love her house
Amazing!
Wonderful tour your home is very beautiful inside and out I not very far from Sonoma so I CAN’T wait to visit your store loving for a vintage urn hope it’s waiting for me 🌸
What a dream home with a magnificent interior!
One of the best Homeworthy tours. So many homes that decorators design are so predictable. This breaks the mold.
This is a timeless, elegant home. Beautiful inside and out. 😊
I absolutely love ❤Love this house and the homeowner and curator is lovely too ! I am a connoisseur of everything French related, so this was a treat!
Old Sonoma is amazing. Great food and wine and entrepreneurs.
Love Homeworthy such a nice change from “ designer “ homes. Lovely textures , textiles , original gorgeous home. One of my all time favorites. Would love to see more homes which are authentic to the homeowner.
Nice. The taxidermy thing is a bit weird, all that death. The irony is, this lady’s face resembles that of the deer, very soft and innocent and beautiful.
Lovely home, gorgeous surroundings, very nice hostess…BUT I despise taxidermy.
Lovely home….
The Finch is "Talking to you" alright. It's saying how much it would love to FLY and have babies and have a partner, a life, a nest instead of a fancy antique CAGE! I've never understood how a human can put one bird or ANY bird in a metal cage and think that's ok. How do you walk past the poor thing and think it's so cute??? I'm not even a member of PETA, but I've seen other tours of homes with caged birds. It's one of the cruelest, most selfish, self indulgent things I see on these tours.
I hope you can't stop thinking this when you walk past from now on……
The Little Women bedroom is so precious! 😍 I also love the 2 tone blending of the paint/plaster. The chandeliers ~ exquisite! Thank you for sharing!
Sarah, I absolutely love your home and collections. It's beautiful. I love your kitchen, while looking at it, it transported me back in time to my great-grandmother's home, but in a sense, stirred something in my soul….. like a Deja'Vue feeling. YOU are also very beautiful!!!!!!! I enjoyed your home tour and meeting you here on Homeworthy!
Do you think the Finch is begging her to let her out?
