Step inside an extraordinary 180 m² Parisian penthouse apartment where Haussmann elegance meets Napoleon-era detailing. Built in 1920, this historic home retains its original three-part reception layout, intricate wall finishes designed to mimic marble, and striking black-and-white marble floors.
Seventeen years ago, the current family transformed the space into a warm and inviting home, adding layers of personal style while honoring its heritage. A palette of sandy tones, lush green plants, and carefully chosen antique and contemporary pieces creates an atmosphere that feels both timeless and vibrant.

  1. Hey guys! If you could keep one original feature from a historic apartment like this, which would you choose? 🏛🌿 Let me know in the comments, I’m curious to see which detail wins!
    All the best xx

Danke, merci, thank you for the visit! All the very best and see you soon in another interesting and original place! Much love from Maria, Marseilles

  3. An exquisite living space, thoughtfully presented. An "oasis" for the entry hall was an apt description. Thank you for sharing!

  4. In my custom 19th century styled Tuscan home, I designed the kitchen around a LaCornue stove. Now priced at $13K. I paid $10K+ 6 years ago. Super expensive, but I wanted something old-ish. I could have purchased a restored 1940’s stove ($6K to $7K for the larger ones), but took this path. I am happy with it except for the igniter that has gone out twice. Looks like a cheap Chinese part. Other than that, it looks awesome and is everything that a good cook would want. You can flash fry a Buffalo on that huge center burner, the different modes on the two ovens is perfect.

  6. Although modern-ish compared to most of the apartment, I think the open kitchen-dining space has a great look and feel. The craftsmanship of wood floors is very special, and the marble fireplaces are a treasure.

  7. Wrong. Faux marveling, though time consuming, is NOT impossible to duplicate. There are many skilled craftsman doing this today.

  8. Beautiful and thanks again for sharing such fascinating spaces. I'm starting to rethink about my home interior because of your videos. I've been so mid-century modernist for quite a while now and when I see the use of antiques in so many of these spaces you present it attracts me. My first love in design was in antiques and detailing as a very young man. I went through that period and utilized it more in my homes. My wife is from Europe and so I was more traditional than modern and as we have been married forty years now, we went more clean lines and mid-century modern in recent years. I think I'm going to try to incorporate that antique aspect again because it really is lovely when done right. The hallway in this Paris home is really wonderful and I love the use of large plants. The kitchen is magnificent, and that use of black is stunning in that space. A good example of the cabinets being modern and the mirror is antique on the wall. I found something interesting as a painter in that when I do many of my works, I put vintage antique frames on them and yet in my own home everything is modernist type frames, and I need to add more antique frames. Your videos are helping me navigate what I need to do. I realize of course that a traditional space such as this is not what I have in the way of a home and mine is a 1957 modernist style home and so I have to make sure I'm careful in my choices but I look at it this way in that if it does not work in my home then it does not work. I just go back. I need to convince my wife that we should try to mix it up more. I have so many connections to obtaining really amazing antiques and have had many pass through my hands. These videos you are creating are a great source of inspiration and a quite different than many of the YouTube interior videos by American content creators. Great stuff!

  9. Been to Paris three times and loved strolling over the bvd. In the morning I was to go to a museum or other interesting place. After the visit just lunch and no plan except for walking to another arrondisement. Opera, Galeries Lafayette (great ceiling and at 1st floor balcony with vista over Paris), Tour Montparnasse etc.😃👍

  10. I was fortunate to buy an apartment in a building from 1900 here in Spain, just a five‑minute walk from the Mediterranean beach. Luckily, it’s similar to this style of apartment with high ceilings, rooms connected by large doors. Unfortunately, the original flooring was badly damaged, so I had to cover it with wooden panels in case one day I can repair or replace it. Living in an apartment with spaces like this is a luxury. I bought it right when COVID hit, at a VERY GOOD price, and today its value has already tripled. I feel lucky, as it’s now very difficult to buy something similar at a good price. I’m still renovating it little by little, I did a new kitchen, and I still have the bathroom left to do. But I think what will hurt the most will be replacing the old balcony doors. Due to habitability requirements under the housing law, I have to change them for ones with noise protection. It will be a shame to replace them with modern ones unless I can find a craftsman to do it, but that would be very expensive for now.

  11. This is so lovely, and so quintessentially Parisian. I really love that, for all its rare and intricate qualities, it feels very liveable. Not merely a “look, but don’t touch”. And the radiant energy of the space is felt, even through the lens of a camera.

  12. This apartment is stunning. Please continue to showcase apartments like this. We just don’t have this in America, sadly, except maybe some pre-war apartments in NYC or Chicago. Did you say 180 sq meters? It’s not much bigger than my apartment but it looks twice the size! Every detail is amazing. And I’m OBSESSED with European front doors. They are always so beautiful in these classic buildings. I hope you’re able to find more like this all over Europe to tour for us. Thank you and keep up the excellent work 😊😊😊.
