I am taking a “staycation” and am enjoying all the beauty of my home and region. I am taking you to the market in Beaune and on a visit of my dear friends. Ahhhhh! I also live in the countryside, but it has been so hot and humid and quite wet this summer where I live. Too hot to enjoy for me. I long for fall!!!! Your place looks wonderful. I am looking forward to the next book!❤
With your footage alternating between beautiful countryside and beautiful food, you got me thinking that consuming wholesome natural food is almost like ingesting the beauty of nature. I adore a produce market, and we are lucky enough to have one right in our urban neighborhood (with farmers trucking in from nearby rural areas). We also very much enjoyed the markets in The Netherlands: the apricots and strawberries from the Cuypmarkt in Amsterdam were beyond compare, and the cheese and bread we bought in Delft were divine.
Your quiet stay-cation looks like you are taking full advantage of all the peace, abundance and beauty around you. Very inspiring. I especially loved your visit to the market. Where I live in the U.S. we have nothing that compares to markets like this. What are your plans for those peaches?

Happy staycation! Vacations can be so busy that sometimes one needs a vacation just to recover from a vacation!!! Discovering local recipes and traditions for your new book sounds amazing!

Oh that is one big basket of fresh peaches! What delicious foods will you make with them? The market in Beaune looks so welcoming and filled with good produce and baked goods! Nice to get away and visit friends, they have so many animals around!

Picking peaches and filling up the basket is such a peaceful moment. Thinking about the possibilities of what you will make with them. Where I grew up our house was built at the edge of an orchard, we had cherry trees, peach and apples and one apricot tree. I loved summer helping my mother make a pie with what we had picked that day. I’m looking forward to both your books. Your endive looked delicious. I like to put Boursin inside the endive leaves and top with walnuts. Thank you for taking us along your staycation was lovely.
