🥖🍦Baked Ice Cream French Toast Casserole🥖🍦

Ingredients:
8 Tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter
16 ounces (1 loaf) of French bread
2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream
5 large eggs
3 Tablespoons brown sugar
1 Tablespoon powdered sugar for garnish
½ cup fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions:
Place an oven rack in the center position. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Grease a 13×9-inch baking dish with the butter and set it aside.

In a large, microwave-safe bowl, microwave the stick of butter and the ice cream until melted but not bubbling, about 3 minutes.

In the meantime, cut the bread into 2-inch cubes and place it in a large bowl.

Once the butter and ice cream are have melted, mix well.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs until well blended. Mix the ice cream mixture into the eggs little by little to temper them, so the eggs do not cook from the residual heat.

Add the bread into the ice cream mixture. Mix well, making sure everything gets good and soaked. Press down to speed things along.

Add to the baking dish. Sprinkle the top with the brown sugar.

Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and your kitchen smells like a dream.

Pull it from the oven, and sift the powdered sugar over the top. Garnish with berries. Serve warm.
