Thanks for the lovely tip!!! I will give it a try 🙂
Pretty solid sweetener for subbing syrup 👌🏻
Who else is here before this blows up
I use taro bread from the Asian bakery down the street from my shop when I really want to make the best. It definitely has a unique taste, but I like it and so far no one else has complained. Its so good.
I understand if you've never tried this and wouldn't know, but do you think using maple syrup in the pan would turn out just as well? I'm not a fan of the flavor of honey, personally, but this looks like such a good way to make french toast!
I didn t expect to love this as much as I do
Of course! Nature's natural sweetener! Genius idea! I love French Toast! My most favorite dish ever and I love making it! I will ask my mom if I could try this the next time I make it! Also, that French Toast looks delicious!!!!
By the way, here's a vegan French toast recipe I'd like to share with you 😀
Vegan French Toast Recipe:
(makes 12 pieces, serves 6-8 people, double if needed)
1 pack of brioche bread (or Texas toast)
vegan butter (depends on how many servings are being made)
1 cup of vegan eggs (I use Just Egg, which is a liquid)
1/2 cup of vegan milk (oat or almond, your choice!)
1 cap of vanilla extract (or two teaspoons)
1/2 cup of sugar (white or cane sugar)
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
a pinch of salt
Toppings (optional):
Powdered sugar
Fruits (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.)
Syrup (maple or your choice!)
Tools:
Measuring cups, tongs, a whisk & a serving plate
Instructions:
Make sure your hands are thoroughly washed before touching any ingredients or utensils. I recommend wearing an apron, just in case something might splash.
First, stir your wet ingredients together (eggs, milk, vanilla extract). Add your dry ingredients next (sugar, nutmeg, salt, cinnamon) and stir until well combined.
Next, heat a large pan on the stove at medium heat; melt just enough butter onto the pan to cover the bottom. Then, quickly dip both sides of one piece of toast into the mixture with tongs; not too long or the bread will become soggy. Do this and place the bread onto the pan, careful not to burn yourself. Three slices should fit. Do not squish the pan with too many slices of bread, the pieces won’t cook all the way through. Once golden brown, flip each toast carefully with a spatula. Once cooked golden brown on both sides, place the cooked toast onto a serving dish. Continue these four steps until you run out of the mixture and are pleased with the amount of French toast. You can make more mixture if the amount of toast you have does not satisfy you. You may add fruit, syrup, and powdered sugar on top if you would like. Serve to your family! Enjoy!
If I could live in your kitchen as a mouse eating all your scraps i totally would! ❤
