In a measuring cup,
1 1/4 cup of rice
1 can of French onion soup
Mix and pour into dish
1 1/2 can beef broth
1 packet onion soup mix
1 lb extra lean stew beef partially cooked
1 stick butter squares on top
350 covered for 35 minutes
Add slices of mozzarella cheese
Put back in oven for 10 minutes

    The german version says:
    1 Pfund extra mageres, teilweise gegartes Rindfleisch
    1 Stück Butterwürfel darauf

    An American pound (0.45kg) is uneven to the german pound (0.5kg).
    1 piece of butter cube – you added a whole stick of butter. In Germany butter is sold in 250g blocks, that are approximately 2 sticks of butter in America.

    Please, don't translate the recipe!
    You make it harder to cook…

    PS – that's not mozzarella!

  2. New Yorker born and raised who lives in Europe. If you only knew that all those ingredients are banned in Europe because of their cancer, causing properties.

  3. Too much sodium and I don't think that the stew meat would get tender in such a short time. It does sound really good though.

  4. When I see videos like this, I always ask myself “Why is it that Americans cook everything out of a can?” And why do they consider that “cooking“? Because if that is cooking, we’re doomed. People go to school in this country and are not taught how to survive, then they graduate and they don’t know how to fry an egg.

  5. Merciful God. The salt, the additives. Why don’t you actually cook. Make some caramelized onions and some beef broth from, say…beef and then make onion risotto.
