They are just making cinema, it doesnt taste bad at all, i tried it before. The snail taste like shrimps, the frog taste like chicken. The oyster are just tastless. The foie gras is superb, so good.
However the beef tartare …. i advise to never try it

FYI well cooked frogs are between fish and chicken for the taste and texture. For snails, they are really not that bad and don't really taste anything. However the sauce with the snails (butter and herbs) is very good with bread.

well it's not uncommon to see a huge variety of different meat/animals being eaten in countries that knew War/Hunger, so snail and frogs got eaten too during thoose times. But right now ? Mainly tourists eat them, so basicaly "the most snails and frogs eaten in france are by non-french people XD"
