You should have added a garlic butter concoction along with some parmesan cheese on the bread and bake it for about 5 mins at 450. Take it out add your toppings and put it in for about 10-12 mins or until the cheese is melty and slightly brown. Take it out, let it rest a couple of minutes and cut it to enjoy.
I have made French bread pizza before without cooking the bread first and it came out soggy.
