Diners in New York City are spoiled for choice. On a single block, you might find a pizzeria, a noodle shop and a fine-dining institution, all of them stellar. How do you narrow more than 20,000 restaurants down to the 100 best?
In this video, our interim restaurant critics Priya Krishna and Melissa Clark are giving you a peek behind the scenes. They whittled their selections down until they had a list that represented the city’s culinary greatness, across boroughs, cuisines, price points and styles.
Did your favorites make the cut?

Ranking mountain house shows their lack of knowledge in chinese cuisine. No comment on other ones on the list but dont recomment mountain house in particular.
Wasn't going to watch this, but then I noticed it was Priya… love that her video content often focuses on her journalistic viewpoint as it does here, it's so much more thoughtful than I always expect.
lol the over analysis
What made Wells such a legendary food critic was because he was such a snooty prick in his reviews. But these two critics seem so charismatic and affable. Is this the direction that the Times is going for over the next decade or so?
Would be nice to have a list with places which you can actually get into (unlike Tatiana)
TLDR. Bunch of overpriced yuppy spots.
Can you do a version with the top 10 veggie restaurants?
This list is a total joke.
NYT had enough money in their budget to do this? 150 restaurants ! WOW
This is like doing a food review during the Holocaust -except this time the hungry are non-white
Stay in Santa Monica Melissa-so overrated
I’d give anything to be able to do this. Dream job. Tough but fair….great story, well curated.
13:29 You cant get into Semma that easily anymore, the Resy bots are stealing the spots
Their choices as reviewers are so clear. You know who has chosen what 😂
Coffee-to-go drinking persons rating Top restaurants. What a slapstick.
Im only here bc of KAITLYNEATS!!!!!!
Well done to this team. This is NOT an easy project to do because of the sheer amount and high quality to compare against. WOW
DEI BS ELITES
pls pls pls more videos with melissa. she is such a warm, bright ball of joy in this dark dark world
What does it mean when a restaurant is "on point"?
How did they choose number one? Why not share the reason? More silly content from the NYT
We see you! 😎 You see food
This was so well done. I have never been more interested in food review
List begins at 2:33
Usual sh+t from the liberal NYT
There’s no way that these two people have been to every restaurant and now are saying “These are the 10 best”. Total BS.
Blah, blah, blah, blah…blaaaaah.
“If you can go…and if you can afford it”. 🙄
