🌟 Overnight Caramel French Toast Recipe 🌟

Ingredients

For the Caramel Layer:
• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
• 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
• 1/4 cup light corn syrup (or honey)

For the French Toast:
• 1 loaf of French bread (or brioche), sliced into 1-inch thick slices
• 6 large eggs
• 2 cups whole milk
• 1/2 cup heavy cream
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
• Pinch of salt

Instructions

➔ Step 1: Prepare the Caramel Base

Melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a saucepan.

Stir constantly until smooth and bubbly (about 3–5 minutes).

Pour into a greased 9×13 dish and spread evenly.

➔ Step 2: Layer the Bread

Arrange the sliced bread snugly on top of the caramel.

➔ Step 3: Make the Custard

Whisk eggs, milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt together.

Pour the mixture evenly over the bread.

➔ Step 4: Chill Overnight

Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.

➔ Step 5: Bake and Serve

Let sit at room temp for 30 minutes, then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40–45 minutes.

Rest for 5–10 minutes before serving. Flip slices to show off the gooey caramel!

Serving Suggestions:
✨ Dust with powdered sugar
✨ Add whipped cream or vanilla ice cream
✨ Serve with fresh berries

👉 “Okay, y’all…this is dangerously good. That caramel layer on the bottom melts into the bread like a brown sugar syrup, and the center is so creamy it tastes like a cross between French toast and bread pudding. You could serve this at brunch, or hey—make it the star of a cozy weekend morning!”
