Today wine of choice just excites my palate. Belardent Picpoul de Pinet from Languedoc, France. Once used to make popular vermouth Noilly Prat, the Picpoul grape is not only mouth-wateringly delicious and the perfect grape juice for summer, especially as it is known as the ‘southern oyster wine’.
Zesty and fresh with a crunchy acidity. Citrus and Acacia gives this wine a lovely rhythm from beginning to end.
Today pairing has to be something special as I have fond memories drinking this in France. I’m also obsessed with Noilly Prat.
Today’s wine and wax pairing is non other then my favourite Donald Byrd track – Wine Parade. Also hip hop heads may recognise the Black Moon sample of their album Enta da Stage – Buck em Down (something for the heads)
