What happened to America’s belief in capitalism, free markets, and competition? Instead of addressing internal challenges, it blames other countries for its debt crisis and drug epidemic. Now, it seems to be moving toward a more isolationist approach—closing its borders and cutting itself off from the world. Meanwhile, the rest of the world will continue to grow and innovate, leaving America behind as a stagnant economy trading only with itself.
China put 200 percent tariffs on Australia a few years ago and banned a few of their products.
Americans would be well advised to go by boat to and from Alaska. Apparently their trucking companies are worried also.
I guarantee you that those importers that stock the warehouses with enough supply for six months are going to charge much more way before the tariffs even kick.
As someone who has a family riddled with alcoholism, I actually see this as a net positive for society.
This one is for everyone’s own good.
