Today, you’ll arrive in the wine-making capital of Libourne, situated on the left bank of the Dordogne
River. Two of Bordeaux’s most elite wine regions are very close-by – Saint Émilion and Pomerol. You
will have the unique opportunity to savor exquisite blends during a tasting at a Grand Cru Classé
château in Saint Émilion, an old historic village known for its picturesque architecture, monuments
and historic vineyards that were first introduced to the land by the Romans. Both the village and its
vineyards have been classed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The steep and narrow cobblestone
streets are lined with remnants of monasteries and convents dating from the 11th to 18th centuries
that tell the story of the village. Also, enjoy a panoramic tour of the celebrated landscapes in
Pomerol. What you will visit: Saint Émilion village, its underground monuments (monolithic church,
hermitage), Grand Cru Classe winery such as Château de Ferrand or Château de Pressac.

The first vines were planted in Fronsac two thousand years ago. In the
18th century, the wines of Fronsac enjoyed the best reputation in the Libourne region, selling for
higher prices than their neighbors in Saint Émilion and Pomerol. Today, Fronsac includes several
beautiful wine estates such as Château de la Dauphine, Château de la Rivière and Château Gaby.
Here you will visit a cellar and taste local wines from Chateau de La Riviere.
