Chef Gordon Ramsay’s visit to Piccolo Teatro in Paris remains one of Kitchen Nightmares UK’s most talked-about episodes. Scottish owner Rachel McNally’s attempt to run a vegetarian restaurant in the heart of meat-loving France led to one of the most dramatic outcomes in the show’s history. This follow-up investigation reveals what happened in the weeks and months after Gordon’s intervention at this troubled Parisian establishment.

In the original episode, we witnessed mounting debts, chaotic kitchen scenes with knife-wielding chef Daniel, and concerning food safety practices that shocked even the veteran chef Ramsay. While Gordon’s remake showed promise, especially with the arrival of talented chef India, the story after the cameras stopped rolling took several unexpected turns.

• What caused the restaurant’s sudden closure just six weeks after filming?
• Rachel McNally’s shocking career change after the episode ended. You won’t believe what she did next!
• Where did rising star chef India end up after her promising performance?
• How did Rachel’s father Brian recover from his significant investment?
• What happened to the prime restaurant space in central Paris?

  1. There supposed to be 30 comments but I can only see 2. Is Youtube hiding politically incorrect comments? Same issue with other videos and channels too.

  2. I just watched this episode yesterday and was desperately looking for your revisit. And imagine my surprise you just uploaded this! Wonderful delivery as always! 🎉

  3. honestly if she takes care of herself like she did her restaurant i'm not sure i'm paying 200 euros for her gooch 💀💀💀💀

  4. Why do pepole think that going from waitressing to owning the restaurant IS EASY? Diffrent jobs, diffrent responsabilities, averything is diffrent

  5. She just wanted to play act at running a Parisian restaurant with her best friend and whacky chef. Would have worked as a sit com, but not an actual restaurant. She might have just been pulling the Suns legs with the prostitute remarks.

  6. OMG! That episode was crazy enough to write a sitcom of two seasons with the events that went down there, and another two seasons with the aftermath.

  7. Opening a vegetarian restaurant in Paris is a brave but risky move particularly with an incompetent insane chef in the kitchen.

  8. This is the one I actually remember watching this one, And got me into watching kitchen nightmares how someone can just waste all that potential and the fact that he was a simple serving soup and still making a profit.

  9. I can understand people not liking a vegetarian themed restaurant but France has great vegetarian dishes without the label. A good grilled cheese sandwich is a joy. In addition, tiny kitchen, crazy chef, unserious owner. I wanted the new chef to succeed so much. I wish her the best.

  10. I remember a comment on the full episode of this uploaded to YouTube where someone said the owner and most of the staff were seemingly on drugs and that being the reason for their off the wall behavior, a particular example they used was Rachel’s wacky behavior after her and Gordon had visited the Moulin Rouge

  11. Never believed those reports about Rachel post KN. Best thing she ever did though was leave the restaurant business. Clearly had no interest in it. I do partially wonder if she felt pressured into it by her father. Still wasted his money but it might have been his own pressure that got her to even try running it in the first place.

  12. Ah yes, this was during Ramsay's vegetarian-hating period. About the same time he tricked a vegetarian into eating meat, iirc. Happily he changed is mind and these days you'll find plenty of veggie recipes on his page and on YouTube.

As for the allegation that Rachel later became a s*x worker, the UK has pretty strict defamation laws. If the Sun made it all up it she would have a very good case, with a father seemingly rich enough to pay for a lawsuit. So I'm inclined to believe the story. Which is fine by me btw, consenting adults and all that. Just hope she's managed to get her life in order…

  13. Rachael really is one of the most insufferable people to ever feature on the show. Regardless of the whether or not The Sun article is accurate, she showcased how absolutely worthless she was during the episode. It begs considering though, that is was quite a few years ago now, and hopefully she eventually matured and sorted herself out. As insufferable as she was, the mistakes of the past are just that, the past.

  14. I like how GR's veg journey has progressed over the years and watching how his attitude has changed, from laughing at a vegetarian accidentally served meat to promoting vegetarian dishes and yelling at cooks & chefs who cross-contaminate. I always kinda wish in this episode that Rachael's dad had found a manager and put India in charge of the kitchen, taking the cafe off his daughter, but that would've been asking a lot of time and more money after what his daughter frittered away. There's some pretty awful people we see in KN but she has got to be one of the most reprehensible. The way she blames GR for the problems, and in an article I read somewhere, blamed him for her becoming an escort (if that's true) reminds me of a Great British Bake Off contestant who did really well but blamed all her issues on Paul Hollywood for years after the show. No grace, no class, no sense of responsibility.

  15. When the restaurant failed the proprietor tried suing Gordon Ramsay and when that failed she became a prostitute (look it up). 🤣
