    According to my research Chef RV, the dish chicken cordon bleu is named after the prestigious French award of the same name, which is given to chefs with exceptional skill:

    Chef,no exact known origin of chicken cordon bleu,which means blue ribbon, story I know is its not chicken its pork pounded para madami magawa stuffed with ham ,cheesed rolled on eggs and bread crumbs,it was created by a chef in switzerland,people awarded him the cordon bleu for a delicious way of creating the dish

    CORDON BLEU means Blue Ribbon in French translation. Blue ribbon is given as an award for chefs who have exceptional skills. The name Chicken Cordon Bleu was derived as the taste and the presentation of the dish deserves a Blue Ribbon. 💙🎀💙
