  2. Hello from Perpignan, French Makoti, 🌴🌞
First, thank you for sharing these magnificent pictures of this amazing village of Sarlat and for sharing your journey with us.
I just wanted to rectify a little mistake about the Abbaye de Sarlat became later the cathédrale Saint-Sacerdos de Sarlat. This Abbaye was founded in the first half part of the ninth century, not the nineteenth (if I hear well) century as mentioned in your video.
But maybe, it's your pronunciation of "ninth" that introduced me in error (?). I've listened to the passage several times but am unsure what I'm hearing. 😊
    Anyway, have an excellent day.
    Peace, folks. ☮👈😎

  3. I really did enjoy watching your great video of this beautiful little town. I am French but living in Australia now. Did leave France when I was 28 years old looking for some adventure, did go to Africa, I always wanted to know more about African culture, end it up in South Africa where I wanted to know about what was happening there in time of apartheid and that was in 1982. I was horrified of the situation at the time. For a long time I did miss my country France manly for its old towns and villages. What you did with your video and commentary makes me miss it. The touching point of watching your video was also due to your beautiful voice doing the commentary. Bravo!!!

  4. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all.

Dordogne/Perigord is one of my two prefered regions of France with Brittany.
There are beauty, charming landscapes and housing, history and excellent food everywhere in this region.
    I'm french from Ariège, Occitanie.

  5. Sarlat is very beautifull but not a village. It's a city.
If you want to see a beautifull village go make a rapid tour in Saint-Crépin-et-Carlucet. It's north of Sarlat 13 km. It's very very nice. And a little village.

  6. It may be beautiful but I hiked through there last summer, and I thought it was a TOURIST NIGHTMARE. I was walking purposefully but there were so many people just walking around aimlessly, almost from coffee shop to coffee shop, with no purpose to their lives at all. Its not a place I will be willing to go back to.

  7. I am so glad I found your channel. I love everything about France and I am home sick for Europe, as I am an old lady, 89 from the Netherlands, living in California for the last 45 years. If I could go back, I would but circumstances made that impossible. Thank you for showing parts of your life in France. I subscribed. ❤❤❤

  8. Hello from California! I’ve wanted to go to Sarlat for over 30 years, but I haven’t made it yet. It was fun to see your excitement!

  9. Sarlat is (according to French standards) a small town, not a village. What makes the difference is not only the size, the population, but also the administrative, medical, and commercial infrastructure… They are all present in this town… would not be in a village.

  10. Hello, It is great that you had the idea of travelling in the countryside, and not only stay in Paris like so many visitors !
Sarlat is a very touristic place (full of British people who settled around), but here are many (very) old villages and cities like that all over France.
It is true that the Périgord area is famous for its nice houses (and food), but you can also find great places for instance in the Lot region (more south), in Bourgogne, Bretagne, Alsace, Massif Central moutain area etc…
For instance here is a nice video about Salers, an impressive middle-age village in the Cantal area (Massif central mountains) :

I really enjoyed your video, the way its filmed, the music.. should go on tv 😉
I hope you ll come back to France for doing that, there are so many gorgeous places even completely unknown waiting for your talent and before they ll be completely destroyed by concrete.

  13. Quand j'ai vu "14th Century Town" avec cette miniature, j'ai forcément pensé à Sarlat. Je me demande si les habitants se considèrent chanceux d'y vivre.
I'm always glad to see foreigners who like my town.

  14. I am happy that you did enjoy France and making it your new home. Great contrast from South Africa. I always have great memories from my 11 years living in South Africa, I had many beautiful African friends , never had any issues with black Africans from South Africa, in the beginning they used to call me both and at the end they called me by my first name, when that happened I felt belo😊

  15. 😂,je vis a Sarlat et je suis partie en voyage juste après le montage des cabanes pour Noël !! Et là je regarde cette video en Corée !! C'est une ville magnifique et toute la région autour
