Do not overthink too much and too long. As you stated your parents are getting old, so spend as much time as possible while they are still there.
Asia is much more vibrant especially in the evening and food is so affordable and the variety is so wide.
Important things in life are family and friends, mild weather and delicious food.

That's very nice of you to think about your parents and saving your days for emergency use. I think you do seem a lot happier living outside of Hong Kong and you can be yourself more too without the papparazzi following you in Hong Kong. Maybe you can consider moving to Japan where it's closer to Hong Kong so you can visit your family more often. You would also be able to cook more healthy meals at home in Japan and it's not so expensive. I really want to visit Paris as I have never been, but I am also scared to go as a solo female traveller because of the pickpocketing situation there. I am scared of losing my passport and all my money and can't go home.

Thanks for sharing. The udon and Ramen look nice especially in cold weather. Although I have not been in Paris before, U have film it nice. I can feel the serenity and tranquility of it.
