I guess they had to also adapt to the keep left traffic patterns.
Higher salaries and lower taxes compared to France. Also lots of cute girls if you're a white expat guy
Unlike Britain…. France decimated its former colonies….
Failed in Paris, Try Hong Kong…
Quite surprised the number of French in Hk higher than Vietnam. Because in Paris the Viet is everywhere
I don’t know why but perhaps there is market for French in Hong Kong.
Cus French has had enough of leftie problem in France😂
You forgot to talk about the French MTR smelling like public toilets, and the high probability to get robbed, assaulted, and raped.
Stanley is called Stanley-sur-mer due to the French population there!
C’est quoi ce délire , la France veulent créer leur 13e arrondissement à Hong Kong ? 😂😂😂
Well analysed!
Would be nice to have more young and older French workforce to make HK what it used to be that cosmopolitan city, other than the otherwise monotonous mainland Chinese influx ❤
Am I hoping against hope😢?
The Hiding Reality = "Tax Evasion" ! / 隱藏嘅現實 = "逃稅" !
Hong Kong is already in the French Taxation Blacklist ! / 香港已被列入法國稅務黑名單 !
Love French bakery…hk a safe city n diversity.
Making money is the reason.
HK is still convenient to set up business and with relatively low tax. I guess French don’t care about politics
See? It’s the same for everyone, don’t mock Chinatown, every race prefers their own little community rather than blending in
99% are mainland communist Chinese. They speak Communist Mandarin.
I know tons of French ppl in HK, and honestly, all they do is complain. They're always moaning about how much better France is and why HK is such a dump and how rude and unpleasant HK locals are. I ask them, 'If it’s so terrible here, why are you even in HK?' Then they just switch gears and start trash-talking France! It’s like they can’t help but whine about everything
I live barely 4 minutes from the Alliance Francais in Jordan, Kowloon.
True story..they love dim sum.
Frenchies: Communism is the future for mankind.
The same Frenchies: Fick you, Macron and other tax, tax, tax communist Frenchies. I am going to capitalistic Hong Kong.
One simple answer: Tax in France vs Hong Kong
well made report.
Not just only that, even Indochina of Vietnam is well. Hong Kong have a Mini Paris and Hanoi.
FUNNY.
25,000 outta 6,000,000 HONG KONG CHINESE
Two Simple answers: Taxes (50% In France) and the way the country is going down on ALL levels. This last aspect can only be felt by French People.
There are 3 times more Americans than french in Hong Kong.
Oh I thought I was the only one who has this question when I was living in HK. I ssw them everywhere in my estate and the HK girls were drooling over them.
One answer: France = black ppl
Are there?
Also clean birocracy and excellent legal certainty that makes them feel comfortable to investing their business in Hongkong
Still a drop in the ocean compared to the amount of chinese in France
As a French myself, I hope those people integrate into HK society, speak the local language (english and chinese), and don't impose too much their values
This comes as a surprise to me. What happened to the Brittish?
Perhaps it brings back the colonial nostalgia for their time in Vietnam.
Hong Kong sur Seine, 21st district of Paris
Hong Konger here. I met my french husband in HK, who came with a working holiday visa (likely the early batch). We lived in HK for 3 years and left in 2017. Many of his French friends also left. Many well-educated French indeed left France for Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and Switzerland.
When you go to France, French treated Chinese badly. Now in Hong Kong, taking over Hong Kong.
I work for a French pharmaceutical company and we don’t consider HK for R&D, one industry that is lacking. I wish there were since I was born in HK and have relatives there.
Good summary
Was in Hong Kong a few months ago and had lunch at Bouillon. Wow really authentic food. The couple who ran the place, he’s fro Bordeaux in France and she’s Asian (she’s the chef). Highly recommend 😋 PS we’ve lived in France for over 20 years
French people are fleeing the corrupt regime that's been going on for decades in France.
Not only corrupt but also a more and more authoritarian regime, that is exploiting the average workers for the benefit of politicians, of migrants and of people who don't work.
because the economy in france sucks
Fascinating!
