  1. Woah the amount of tacks in those chairs is amazing, quite a task to take on. Reupholstering is so gratifying in the end though. They just don't make solid furniture like that anymore. All those colours have been my interior colours since my first home.

  2. Hey that gold chair at the brocante with CL on it would of been perfect for Terry's Chateau de Lalacelle and even better it was gold lol.

  3. You might try a very small pair of jewelry nippers on the hard to remove tacks or small nails. You can use a metal pallet knife under the nippers to protect the wood. It's not always successful, but it is a good tool for stubborn small nails & tacks if used carefully.

  4. If you are going to frame some of the silk to display, perhaps you could take before and after pictures of the chairs reno and a little history of where they came from and put them in an envelope taped to back of frame

  5. I enjoyed the new format, and good on you for taking on board other opinions. I love seeing the original fabric, it's similar to some uncovering floors etc. so beautiful. One can only imagine the splendour and beauty of the room the pieces once graced. 💖

  6. Upholstery is quite an art when done properly. Patrick and Stewart are truly artists, and the château and grounds are their canvas.

  7. What an exercise in patience that is to dismantle the furniture for reupholstering! I just love following your brocanting! I just have to get there during brocanting season! Love you both ❤

  8. I posted when you talked about changing your format – I like this newer one. Especially learning the cost of reupholstering chairs and settee! Great chairs, by the way.😊

  9. It pretty much confirms to me why these chairs are expensive fully painted and upholstered. Looking forward to your material choice with your tastes I’m sure it’ll be exquisite

  10. I never thought the old intro wasnt good. Not sure I like just starting without anyintro. Maybe after 1_2 minutes put your name in. Liked the music at the shopping part.

  11. Hi Patrick and Stuart, being an amateur furniture restaurer I am always particularly interested when you start a project like this one! I know how much time it takes but it’s such a rewarding job! Can’t wait to follow the progress and admire the final result. Bonne chance as always 🪑

  12. The chairs are a lovely shape, I did one a few years ago, took me ages. I used a small thin screwdriver to lever the tacks slightly before using the over tool. You can still get the damask fabric, I have seen it in a few places, but the price might be high. I will keep an eye out for you. I also got some lovely trim that was about £1.30 a metre which turned out to be really lovely. That was in the uk. I am sure when you have worked your magic on everything they will look great.

  13. I am loving the newformat ❤ I like listening to you two as you are working😊thanks for taking us along on your journey, and I like it when the dogs bark in the back ground😂 just like my house😂 never fails when the phone rings they bark till I hang up😂😂

  14. I like the new format. Both of you have great patience with tedious jobs. The chairs and settee will be beautiful when completed.

  15. Impressive to think that each tack was handcut…but still a bear to remove. When I am making or redoing anything in home decor, I'm always astonished at the amount of trim needed. The original fabric is beautiful. So classic – I bet you'll find something similar. Happy hunting!

  16. The chair is louis xvi style from the late 19th century
This style didn’t even exist in 1750 so neither the chair nor the fabric can be 1750
The glue used until the 20th century so also on this chair would be a bone glue
A bit more homework before giving information with such certainty would do you no harm

  17. Is there a sand blasting type of removal you can use? Something that won't remove the detail?
P.S. I noticed no intro this time.

  18. I enjoy watching your channel. I appreciate you jumping right into the content. Keep up the good work!

  19. If you undress the chair you could see the original color of the fabric on the other side , right ? can't wait …

  20. Can I ask if it is you guys on bluesky as I'm giving up Facebook and other Meta sites and I have started following you there but just wanted to make sure it's definitely you guys x

  21. Please don’t cut out patterns exactly it will be to small and so hard to pull tight. I had a small upholstery shop so I some experience and I loved to do French chairs the best. You both are amazing I have watched you from the start before you sold your place. I would love to come stay at your chateau some time and was looking into it. And now it would be even better to come and work on some of your projects with you. Keep up the amazing work.

  22. Thank you for showing your awesome videos, your graphic introduction concept is missing. I wish you the very best, thank you again.🥰
