La Nouvelle, a recent culinary development by Chef Michael Lugo, was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday dinner for Luis. They claim “the atmosphere will lead you to the streets of Paris without leaving St. Augustine” and honestly that is what we experienced. From the elegant deep colored velvet textiles to the marble tabletops…I could go on and on.
My favorite touch had to be the antique French reader books that housed the dessert menu with actual old handwriting from someone learning the language years ago. The exquisite food warranted the atmosphere. Michael Lugo is always raising the standards of the food scene in St Augustine and we are enjoying taking part in the culinary journey.
