(Part Four) In today’s video I share our fun few days on the big island visiting Hilo and Kona! We start with breakfast on the ship in the main dining room before getting off and starting our crater hike & hilo waterfalls shore excursion. The first stop was Rainbow Falls which was absolutely beautiful to see in person. Next, it’s the big part of this excursion at Hawaii Volcanos National Park where we got to hike down into an active volcano (Kilauea Crater) this was a true spectacle to see. Back on the ship it’s now time for dinner at Jefferson’s Bistro and let me tell you this restaurant was the best on the Pride of America. The next day from Kona we got to enjoy our last shore excursion which was deep sea fishing! Finally, I share a few quick thoughts about this Hawaiian Islands sailing so far. Big island is the best, a truly beautiful and majestic place with the volcano park and many beautiful waterfalls, Waipio Valley is breathtaking.
I’ve done both rainbow 🌈 falls and volcano 🌋 state parks both was awesome to check out

I love the big island.The crater at night is amazing. The newest island is now forming 60 miles off the coast of the big island called Loihi. One of the wettest temperate rainforests is 60 miles west of Seattle. It is wet but beautiful.
You definitely need to go back to the big island, visit green sand beach, black sand beach and Mauna Kea after midnight for stargazing
That crater hike looked like so much fun! As a hiker myself, here's a tip for you: Always wear hiking boots to hike, and not sneakers or tennis shoes. They can't give you the right ankle support and protection. You'd be amazed at how many people treat hiking the same as walking, and they couldn't be any more different.😉

Love this! My ohana and I are from ʻOahu born and raised though we live on the continent now (PNW). We are going home next week and cant wait so thank you for this incredible content of our home- Hawaiʻi ❤ Crazy enough my dad is a commercial deep sea fisherman (of 40+ years) just like the excursion except his boat is a lot smaller. Ive seen him use both live bait and lures as my sisters and I (all 6 of us all girls) have gone with him throughout our childhood. It depends on where youre fishing, what youre trying to catch and the availability on live bait (or bait period) as its well live and the name implies so you have to spend time catching it. Now when he would use each over the other would depend on those factors and a few more. If I had to guess a lure was just easier and cheaper a quick Bang for the buck. Sometimes they can be out there for HOURS and catch nothing so im glad they caught (and then lost) something so yall could at least experience that part which is exciting as heck especially marlin or swordfish types (game fish). They are not the best for eating to us spoiled daughters of fisherman, we like it better smoked cause its very dry and lean. Some love it, some dont care for it. Id rather have Mahi mahi, ono, kona crab, ahi, aku, well you get the point. Lol Can't wait for the next moku (island).
I was just on that ship two months ago when I went to hawaii, but the boat was old. The food was very repetitive and it wasn't that good. Also, the shows were boring. I love royal Caribbean better. However, hawaii was amazing!!! I just wish Norwegian get a better ship for hawaii.
The Kona side is really nice Hapuna Beach is awesome , Waikoloa Village, Kingshops and Queens Marketplace ..make sure to go back Braddah Dev

Thanks. I had so many memories watching you today. Rainbow Falls, The rainforest. The hike down to the crater. I don't remember the trees from my trip, but that was about fifteen to eighteen years ago. We stayed on the west side of the island and rented a car. We went all over the place. We stopped at a green sand beach and hiked down to a black sand beach. I can't remember the name of the resort, but it was a Hilton resort. We stayed in their condos on the golf course. I remember.
They're being howard glyphics very close to us. That was cool. I wanted to go up to the observatory, but my husband only brought shorts and short sleeves. I was so disappointed because there was snow up there. On the last day we went to a beach that King Kameamea somehow had blocked off for his family, so the sharks couldn't get in and snorkeled with lots of fish and a big turtle.
I hope you were able to at least try some Kona coffee?
