  1. ATK should do an episode about potatoe skin. How to clean, safe to eat, etc. Or an episode about "skin" for fruits and veg, how to clean should you eat, pros and cons. Thanks

  2. Personal tip to anyone making fries in an air fryer: Par-cook the fries first in boiling water, or even better and faster is the microwave. Make sure to dry them and then add a light dusting of cornstarch together with the oil. It helps in making the fries crisp and not limp. Blast with heat for about 15-minutes or so and you'll get the closest thing to fries without deep frying them.

  3. I really like most of your videos, but I would never let hot water from the tap touch my food. Have you ever looked inside a water heater?

  4. Can this be done in a convection oven also, or does it have to be a counter-top air fryer?

  5. Stop and toss every 5 minutes? Way too much time and attention for a side dish.

  6. I'm always confused by rinsing off as much starch as possible followed by adding cornstarch (which a lot of recipes do, some even let the potato starch collect in the bottom of the bowl and use that).

  7. Where the heck do people get rosemary with strong enough stems to strip like that? I've tried it many times and the stems always break (and thyme is even worse).

  8. The trade off is time Vs oil amount. You can do deep fry in a 4qt kettle with less than 1/2 qt oil…10 minutes.
Air fry? 45 minutes or better and a lot of babysitting.

  9. I think to save money on energy maybe using the oven once would be a better idea. My airfryer broke midway trying to do french fries multiple times to get crispy. Also, some newer ovens come with air frying which can save time.

  10. FINALLY! A recipe for folks who want to spend an hour and a half cooking 2 servings of fries!

  11. They have a recipe for making fries in the oven that produces way more, is far less fussy, and still only uses a little bit of oil. Use that one.

  12. So much effort just to not use a ventilated oven or a convection oven, which is basically the same as an air fryer, but more practical and capable of baking as well.

  13. I'm sorry, but those did not look crispy at all. Makes me question how much testing went into this recipe, and how much testing goes into your product testing these days.

  14. Soak them, soak them, then soak them again; dry them; cook them, cook them; dress them; then cook them again, and remember to check them multiple times; then dress them….oh and then dress them one last time. 50 minutes later you’ve got some fries. Ummm no thanks.
I’m sure they are very good but those would be gone in five minutes.

  15. lost me at the pleebs wearing masks in the background.. we know who the important people are..

  16. Too much time and effort for such a small amount! Better to double deep fry then use the oven or air fryer to add the flavoring.

  17. I've been making these for a couple months and it's only gotten easier and more passive when doing so. They're crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. If you're looking for crispy and crunchy, try the ATK patatas bravas recipe

  18. Not a fan of using hot water from a tank for soaking food in…Magnesium or aluminum rod in water heater, and other metals. Tankess ok though.

  19. My neighbor complained about the noise my air fryer makes i had to move or not use a air fryer

  20. Should use extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil. Shouldn’t use omega 6 oils.

  21. nice, highest possible surface area, and forcing hot oxygen over the vegetable oil. the healthiest, least artery clogging way to cook stuff.

  22. Please do not use hot tap water and boil some…
This is because hot water can dissolve contaminants more quickly than cold water and hot water systems (tanks, boilers, pipes, etc.)
Its a place for bad bacteria to grow as it remains hot without boiling….
Harmfull contaminants from the talk and pipes..
Im starting to doubt these hosts.

Just boild some water and toss them in for a short time, the boiling water will also make drying faster and I'll start to evaporate when you take out the fries.
