Journey to the Château, Ep. 260 – In this Wednesday episode, Patrick and Stuart continue to deck the halls of the chateau for Christmas. They add holiday decorations to the chateau exterior as well as in the petit salon, dining room, and entrance hall. They also visit their first Marché de Noël of the season in the French town of Condé, along with a trip to local brocante.

    If you are hearing other languages over our video, that is something in your own personal settings on YouTube and is not part of the audio in our vlog or anything that we can control. SETTINGS is the icon on the lower right video screen area that looks like a gear wheel. Click on it and there is something called AUDIO TRACK that YouTube has added that speaks the audio in different languages. You need to turn it off by selecting english/original if you don't want to hear those other languages talking over us. Hope that helps. Thanks!

    Your decorations are beautiful. Other than our main Nativity Set that we put on the piano we no longer bother to decorate. I enjoy watching all the vlogs and everyone's chateaux, farm houses, mansions, etc. and their decorations. Ronnie in Saskatchewan

    Patrick, you already have a beautifully and tastefully decorated Château, so there's no need to run to your local IKEA.
    My sister a rather talented decorator. She spreads the holiday cheer throughout her entire home, adding little touches to every room in the house. The end result is really quite beautiful. Her main tree is always a triumph, but she sprinkles about unique and delightfully colorful but subtle flourishes to remind guests of the season.
    Colombe is a beauty, but it is not Vaux-le-Vicomte, so that's a standard that's unachievable. The finishes in the King's bed chamber are almost beyond words in their luxury and refinement. And the King never spent a night in the room. Vaux was poor Fouquet's folly. That's a cautionary tale of excess if there ever was one.
    Consider Coco Chanel's advice to remove one article before leaving to go out. I would apply the same rationale to holiday decorations. Less is more, if you will. What you've done beautifully declares, Merry Christmas! What more is there to say?

    Aloha Patrick and Stuart, your Christmas decorations are exquisite. As soon as you started to hang lights on the fountain I knew we were all in for a big treat. The inside tree with the chrystal ornaments is mesmerizing. The Supervisors were quite intent watching every little move you were making. They have trained you well!     I also had a three tiered fountain and I made a cover cut from green tarp that protected it from Michigan winters, I would string lights around it for Christmas

    Bonjour, Guten Tag Patrick and Stewart! The decorations on the stair railing look wonderful! If I remember correctly the Waterford snowflakes were there last year. They look even better on the tree in the petit salon ! Loved the tapestry armchairs and the demilune table at the brocante . Also, I noticed some silver flatware 🍴 in the fiddle thread pattern, not sure what the name is in French , called ,, Augsburger Faden‘‘ in German. That’s a pattern I collect. Would love a wonderful French saupoudreuse in that pattern be on the look out for me! Lol 😂

    I love that you have a large enough house to have different colors and themes of decorations in each room if you want. Love the blue in the blue dining room. How does one control the heat? Was Jane bundled up? I can't stand being too warm so I'm always wearing layers. On the Gulf Coast of Texas where I am, the least bit of cold causes offices and stores to overcompensate with heat. I stay in cotton short sleeves and put my coat on over it for entry and exit.
