The waiting time for #Christmas has also started in many other parts of the world. The #French city of #Strasbourg boasts one of the oldest Christmas markets, which was started in 1570 and was the only one of its kind in #France for a long time.
At the entrance to the historic center of Strasbourg – a small security check – because an act of terrorism took place here 6 years ago, in which 5 people were killed – and then you can dive into the Christmas spirit.
Be that as it may, the people of Strasbourg take Christmas very seriously – many houses, especially in the streets around the cathedral, are decorated with an unimaginable scope. Attached to the building are giant bears, snowmen, just about anything that can be associated with this Christmas season.
The street from the Strasbourg #Cathedral to the Ile River is an Instagrammer’s paradise. Markets are held here in every major square and, as in Alsace, both French and German cuisine are mixed here, and the smell of mulled wine is here, which is made from both red and white wine. Everything can be found in the markets – from Christmas tree decorations and handicrafts to simpler things.
