From Jackson-Triggs Website: Meet Canada’s #1 wine. Now in a fresh new look! Since 1993, our passion has been crafting award-winning, approachable wines – best enjoyed with those who matter most.

From a wine lover I can say that this Niagara, Ontario, Canada produced Jackson-Triggs Sauvignon Blanc didn’t cross our threshold of award winning when it comes to taste.

As a non-vintage wine this wine has tasting notes of: lemon/lime/citrus with pleasant sweetness and light acidity. There are lesser notes of tangerine and apples. This is a very simple and light wine best suited to deck drinking or beginner wine consumers. For $9 per bottle we aren’t complaining, but I would rather spend $15-$20 to get a wine that tantalizes my senses. This wine doesn’t thrill the senses but for the price, it would do in a pinch or for guests who don’t have a palate for great wine.

I remember hosting a wine tasting with a few couples and as we blind sampled a couple wines, the common response was “it tastes like wine”….discouraging but it does take a bit of time and focus to discern one wine or grape varietal from another.
