  1. every french person here thinks he's talking about macron right now refusing the election he only decided to provoke before the olympics . DEGAGE MACRON

  2. I have long loved France's election format. It makes it much harder for two parties to dominate because they are divided into multiple parties

  3. He should've called himself Jean-Olivier LeBritman. With LePen's Front National making a strong surge and everything else going-on in 2024, is there gonna be another shout-out in French?

  4. I love the show but almost no candidate advocate for a Frexit, even in 2017, it was not the case.

  5. and here we are 7 years later…Biden has supplied hundreds of those bombs to Israel to drop on unarmed civilians and Trump is on his way back as America's best option. Wow.

  6. I remember this episode, it was a funny one! I wouldn't call Jean-Luc Mélenchon a far-leftist though. He's just regular left, even though from an American point of view he may seem like a communist 🤣Not much extreme about him though. Among all former presidential election candidates, he's probably the one whose ideas are closest to John Oliver's.

  7. Now would be an excellent time to do a follow up on French politics : the winner of the then election is still around, endebted France by an additional 1000 billion euros in the seven years since then and now explains to us that even though he was beaten at the last three votes, he and his friends are still the only ones capable of running the country ! Vive la France ! 🎉

  8. I'm French and im almost happy to watch the throwback of an old shitshow because since then our democracy is dead (we need a new LWT on this, the world should know what Macron is doing, it's insane)

  9. How dumb is this in retrospective, now that Macron has beaten Lepeen thats a ruzzki pawn, twice. Yeah figure it out, mate.
But also the problem with islamic terror haven't gotten any better, so who the fuck won in the end? Tolerance is not always the way

  10. About the French election, it's basically the same editorial piece you have done already years ago on this channel. Big missed opportunity towards your long term French audience guys , and beside the current events !! It's very disappointing despite me loving your show.

  11. so a presidential candidate in france can have his campaign ended by accepting a donation of suits.
meanwhile in the u.s., lobbyists for foreign govts (aipac) and a candidate who incited an attempted coup d’etat are considered entirely appropriate!
    🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

  12. 24:12 This happens when somebody doesn't speak French properly ! Le Pen's wallpaper remark is not to be taken literally but as a metaphor for the French cultural identity !

Gros bisous Larry
