After Anthony Bourdain and Sean Brock finish many, many, many rounds of drinks, they visit the best/only choice for late-night dining in Charleston, the Waffle House, an irony free zone where everything is beautiful and nothing hurts; where everybody regardless of race, creed color or degree of inebriation, is welcomed. Its warm yellow glow a beacon of hope and salvation, inviting the hungry the lost the seriously hammered all across the south to come inside.

  1. I recently went to breakfast at that same waffle house because the joint we planned to go to happened to be closed. When we sat down i said to my friend that it was the first time I had ever been there when it was light outside. Our server overheard me and practically peed herself laughing…

  2. Waffle house is consistency. Waffle house is dependability. It doesn't matter which one you go to, or what time of day. It will be exactly the same quality and time to prepare.
If the waffle house is closed – get the hell out of there!

  3. Years ago one of the last vacations my mom wanted was a few days round Gatlinburg Tennessee and that area and Ft. Payne, Alabama and Cherokee North Carolina. Our hotel was a couple blocks from a Waffle house where we had breakfast like 3 days. There were some great people that worked there and the manager treated us like family starting with our 2nd visit. I never could've pictured Anthony there but it is pretty cool seeing him take it in. Sorry you left us too early, bud. Rest in peace.

  4. As America wraps up another election year with some unforeseen elements what a reminder from Ordain that there do exist pockets of unity and cohesive social fabric to pull off media’s pundits trying to plaster society into fearful compartmentalization.

  5. I miss him 😢 such a treasure of humanity. Never pretentious, always curious, so personable. A truly tragic loss.

  6. I have a weekly breakfast with my oldest grandson because he’s a great kid and I just like hanging out with him…he always picks Waffle House…this morning I told him we could go somewhere else if he wanted, he replied “why would we go somewhere else?”

  7. It’s wasn’t Waffle House but I saw Bourdain do a review once of a simple grill cheese sandwich and realized then he had an appreciation of simple comfort food that’s well prepared. Really good food critic. RIP

  8. I met Anthony Bourdain last month. He was very nice to me when i asked for an autograph. Amazing guy thank you Anthony Bourdain!

  9. Bourdain is the epitome of rich people being poverty tourists in some vain attempt to relive the colonial era
