4 large russet potatoes
Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:
Prepare the Potatoes:
Peel the potatoes (optional, you can leave the skin on if preferred).
Cut the potatoes into 1/4-inch thick sticks.
Soak the Potatoes:
Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water.
Let them soak for at least 30 minutes (this helps remove excess starch and makes them crispier).
Heat the Oil:
Fill a large pot or deep fryer with vegetable oil, leaving about 2 inches from the top to prevent overflow.
Heat the oil to 325°F (165°C).
First Fry:
