USA, France and Australia are the largest producers of this grape world wide. You can find these wines in an “unoaked” version which allows for the inherent properties of the grape to shine…but these are more uncommon than one would think. You can also find these wines in an “oaked” version. When oaked, this neutral grape can take on some pretty impressive flavors and qualities. One of those being a smooth, buttery or creamy texture from various ways of fermenting the grapes.
