The Sun is finally back, time to get ready for the summer!
well it’s a Christmas miracle here in
France uh it’s actually may but it’s a
Christmas miracle because we finally uh
have some uh good weather uh it’s been
raining here for what seems to be months
but we’ve got a great day today and that
will allow me to get outside and uh get
some work done today I want to tackle
this area here it’s this little area
right beside the kitchen uh great for a
barbecue so um I’ve already installed uh
a little table there but I still got to
uh Gro it clean it up a little bit and
uh just uh make it look good
always looks like garbage before you
growed it but uh once I grow it it’s
going to look pretty

good well we’re all done and we’re all
ready ready for a good oldfashioned
barbecue um in the meantime I just
wanted to uh touch on just a couple of
things each Vlog uh for anybody who’s
thinking of uh moving to France um if
you’re thinking about coming here and
you uh are wondering about drivers’s
license um it’s pretty easy because most
countries um with France um you just
exchange it so um there’s uh a website
that you go to that um you know just put
in French driver’s license and um it’ll
it’ll come up and U they’ll ask you a
bunch of questions and then eventually
they’re going to ask you to send in your
um license so if it’s United States
Canada wherever uh you send in your
license um and then they give you a
temporary one and then they’ll send you
uh a French uh driver’s license so
pretty cool as far as that’s concerned
very easy and um yeah and then you uh
drive it it takes probably about I think
it took me about four months to uh to
finally get my license so uh yeah not a
problem here

so being in France of course you’re
going to sample um all kinds of
different wines and uh this one was uh
quite unique um i’ I’ve tried wines from
everywhere um you know my favorites have
always been from ChatOn de um they’re
expensive wines so I um I stumbled
across this one this one has a cherry
color and um it’s going to just U you
with its Aromas of gingerbread and cocoa
and um it has a very balanced uh taste
which is brought on by the uh by the oak
um that you that you get and also has a
um a silky finish which uh it’s going to
leave your taste buds Enchanted that’s
for sure so I stumbled upon this and um
tried it out and was shocked I mean it
has a fantastic uh taste to it it’s
called laerie
cadasta and um I guess it’s in an area
called gaic This is a
2018 and um yeah so we tried it it was
fantastic and um I went and
bought two boxes of it so your the next
question is how much should I pay for
the uh bottle um and again I will put
this up against um bottles that I have
tried from shapon of the pop and I paid
$450 a bottle 4 and 50 uh uh cents
whatever you want to call it um per
bottle so um it’s an amazing find and um
yeah if you ever stumble across this
wine pick it

Sante time for a history lesson guys
come take a walk with
meangel this is the Church of St Jean
and it was the first gothic church in
in 1258 the court of the Inquisition
gave remission to the inhabitants of
naak found guilty of cathar heresy on
one
condition that this church was
built now full disclosure folks I am not
a religious person uh in any way shape
or form but um when you see these
massive uh buildings and the way they’re
constructed um you just have to stand
there and
ha especially with the backdrop of naak
um it’s just an amazing place to see

the hexagonal belfrey is implanted at
the
side the first time we came to naak I
didn’t even know this church existed
there’s so many different winding roads
[Music]
the stained glass windows formed of
pierced glass tiles and the rose window
counts 10
radii what’s radii you say it’s a new
word for me too radii is the plural of
radius
so if you ever do come to naak do find
this church you won’t regret
it so um we’ve been trying very hard to
learn French you know it’s funny most of
the French people that we talk to um
about you know the fact that we’re
English uh they they tell us as long as
you
try um they’re not going to have a
problem with um you know the fact that
you’re English so obviously we try a lot
um but um we’re finding that you hit
these plateaus um where uh like we’re
we’re taking French lessons well once a
week and we also um you know try to
watch French TV um as well as do some um
some stuff on the internet that’s in
French um so we’re trying to immerse
ourselves as much as possible plus we’ll
speak to each other uh in French when we
can but that’s a kind of a double-edged
sword because we’re not French so um we
don’t want
to you know sort of have our own version
of French with all these mistakes but um
you know we check the words um a lot
when we’re when we’re doing that but we
hit these plateaus I find and um I feel
that we’ve hit a plateau lately where
things are a little more
clearer um which is quite good so
hopefully these plateaus will continue
on and um you know with uh you know our
lessons and whatnot but um yeah feel
feel pretty good right now I think we
can understand most of what’s going on
as long as we understand the subject
that they’re talking about um cuz
sometimes
um you’ll be in a position where
somebody’s talking French and you don’t
know what the subject is you know what
what is what is the the main topic and
we find that is a big issue but most of
the time when we know what the topic is
let’s say it’s uh you know fixing a pool
or um you know whatever exercising
whatever it is if you know what the
topic is we find that we understand
pretty good so it’s a learning curve um
that I wanted to talk to you about but
um it is possible it is doable um we’re
getting there and I think anybody out
there who um plans on coming to France
to retire to live um don’t worry you’ll
you’ll get it as long as you put the
time in I’m I’m saying that now I’m not
I’m certainly not bilingual by any any
stretch of the imagination but uh I feel
that we’re getting there I can I can
make myself and my way can make herself
understood when we are talking to um to
French people it’s probably butchered
we’re butchering the language but we are
getting there we’re being understood so
that is something for you to consider
