  1. Salt is seasoning . Not that people know the details with their desires to have shifting definitions, but it's what is meant by seasoning. Referring to salting food to preserve it for the season. Pepper is a spice. It adds flavor and mild chemical heat . Pepper comes Ina few forms , but it's not necessarily THE spice like salt is THE seasoning. Chillies (paprika included),mace (nutmeg husk but not the same as the chemical spray ) ,nutmeg, cloves, garlic ,allspice ,and a few others are all spices. Herbs are things like oregano, sage , parsley, chive tops, scallion tops, bay leaves ,ect. All leaves and stems used to flavor foods. Now go forth and use your new knowledge to destroy the gross and the wrong!

  2. Drop the “barehanded” thing. You are insane if you cook for yourself in gloves, other than that – wearing gloves IS the unhygienic way of handling food or old books. With the rare exceptions of open wounds, clean hands beat gloves any day of the week.

  3. Parsley, bro. No one is putting cilantro on tomato sauce pasta. Except maybe white people that don't know any better.

  4. You are what you eat. People from different areas stink because of what they eat. French people practically make love with cheeses. People from India, curry spices they practically swim in. Some American because of all the lunch meats they scarf down.

  5. Have you never heard of tomato puree? That's that red "toothpaste" you said. It's condensed tomatoes, think of it like putting a whole small bag of tomatoes into a dish but without actually doing that.
