This French inspired sandwich will make your Sunday at the park perfect

“The Palmer Square”

It’s Spring time here in Chicago and as the Temperature’s begin to climb, one of my favorite things to do is pack a good sandwich, maybe some wine and head to Palmer Square park with my fiancée and dog and have a little picnic. This week’s sandwich, named after our local park, is my go-to park sandwich.

It starts with a fresh crusty french baguette. I spread on some high-quality salted butter and fig jam for some sweetness.  I then shingle thin slices of rosemary ham, creamy brie, and sliced cornochons and put a cap on this simple yet truly perfect sandwich.  Then the only thing left to do is give it a tight wrap and head to Palmer Square, find a quiet spot, and an empty park bench then tear  into this sandwich which somehow gets better as it sits.  Then cherish the moment in the park with my furry friend and my favorite sandwich.  The perfect Sunday if you ask me.
